Online bank

How do I recognise fraud attempts and what should I do?

Fraudsters might pretend to be Citadele employees to obtain your online bank credentials. They may contact you by phone, text message, or e-mail. We remind you that a bank employee will never ask you to share your online bank password, card details, or authorisation codes.

What do watch for:

  • A caller claiming to be from Citadele asks for your password, PIN, or authorisation code - hang up immediately.
  • A text message or email with a link asking you to enter your online bank data - do not click the link and do not enter any data.
  • A request to confirm a payment or action that you did not initiate - always check the control code shown in the online bank or mobile app before confirming.

If something feels wrong

  • End the call or close the message immediately — do not share any data.
  • Do not open any links in suspicious messages.
  • If you have already shared your data or confirmed a suspicious transaction, call us straight away at +371 6701 0000.
  • Report the suspicious message to us at info@citadele.lv.
