How do I apply for an C smart card, what documents are required?

Account opening remotely

Citadele customers can open an account for their children remotely in Mobile app or online bank.

In the mobile app, the application to open a child’s account can be found under the Cards or All accounts section, by tapping the “+” icon in the top corner.

In the internet bank, the application is located under Accounts and Cards → Order a card for a child.
If you are above 18 - apply remotely with a selfie in the Citadele mobile app and receive your C smart card without vising a branch.

Account opening in Bank’s branch

If the parent or legal guardian is not Citadele client – account opening for children is possible at any Citadele branch.  If you're a parent looking to open an account for your child, there's no need to bring the child with you to the Bank’s branch.

Documents required for bank account opening
If the child has reached the age of 15, remember to bring:

  • The parent or guardian’s passport / ID card.
  • The child’s passport / ID card. Birth certificate also must be presented, if there is no entered child’s information in the parents’ passport.

If the child has not reached the age of 15, remember to bring:

  • The parent or guardian’s passport / ID card.
  • Birth certificate or child's passport / ID card. If there is no entered child’s information in the parents' passport, then a birth certificate must be submitted in addition to child's ID document.

At the branch, young people aged 16 and above with regular income (such as a scholarship or salary) can open an account and apply for a C Smart card without a parent or guardian being present. Bring a passport or ID card and an employment contract or confirmation from the educational institution about receiving a scholarship.

Remotely from the age of 16, you can become a Citadele customer independently using a “selfie” in the Citadele mobile app and receive your C Smart card without visiting the bank.
