Contacless payments

My payment isn't being processed using Google Pay when I tap on the contactless terminal, why?

  • Ensure there are enough funds in your account to cover the transaction amount.
  • Ensure Google Pay is selected as your default mobile payment service.
  • Ensure that NFC (near-field communication) and HCE (host card emulation) are switched on in your device settings. NFC and HCE work together to send your payment information to the store so you can make your purchase.
  • Ensure that you woke up your device or unblocked it.
  • Check where the NFC tag is on your device and terminal and tap with your device NFC tag near to terminal NFC tag.
  • If you’re still experiencing issues when making a payment at a contactless terminal please check that you have internet connectivity, and that your physical card has not been temporarily blocked.
