For the whole family of the user of Citadele credit card MasterCard Gold for travelling abroad
If you are a holder of active and valid Citadele credit card MasterCard Gold, you don’t have to buy separate travel insurance, when planning to travel outside from your country of residence. Card users are insured as soon as they leave their country of residence regardless of whether the trip was paid for using the relevant credit card (except for a few risks, upon occurrence of which, payment with the credit card is mandatory). Purpose of the travel may be business, studies, leisure or other. Insurance applies to the first 90 calendar days of each trip, while the number of trips on annual basis is unlimited.
Family members of the credit card user (spouse and children aged up to 18, if the family travels together) are also insured. Insurance premiums should be referred to the payment card users aged up to 80 (exclusive). Clients aged over 80 are not insured. Expenses occurred not only due to sudden illness and accidents, but also expenses related to exacerbation of chronic diseases (for example, stroke, heart attack, asthma etc.) will be covered for the users of both the basic and additional cards. If several members of the same family take a trip at the same time, insurance amounts are divided in proportion per person.

What needs to be done in case of an accident, when one of the travel insurance risks has occurred?
Since insurance is offered by BTA Insurance Company SE, for the purposes of the quick and professional help, BTA Help desk for clients of Citadele must be contacted. You will receive operative help or consultations on further actions upon occurrence of an insurance event abroad. Employees of BTA will help you to settle formalities related to medical institutions, provide a written payment guarantee for the medical services, thus, preventing you from spending your own funds, as well as provide assistance in resolution of various other matters.

While in Turkey, Greece, Egypt or Bulgaria, in case of sudden illness or accident, medical help must be sought at the BTA partners only, since this is the only way for BTA to guarantee free service and avoid problems related to doctors and clinics.

In order to qualify not only for Reimbursement of medical expenses in case of accident, but also for Accident insurance, you have to acquire a document confirming the fact of accident and consequences, for example, a doctor’s statement with included diagnosis.
If you have spent your personal funds in relation to the accident, for the purposes of reimbursement, after returning to Latvia, you have to submit to BTA a submission on insurance event and confirming documents as soon as possible:
- original copies of all receipts and invoices,
- documentation justifying reimbursement – statements issued by medical institutions, confirmation on delay, damage or loss of luggage issued by the airline, documents issued by law enforcement institutions etc., pursuant to terms and conditions of travel insurance.
